#Matthew chapter 15#tradition#doctrine#commandments of men

In my personal study, I follow a rule to compare scripture with scripture to find truth. And that process is not always time efficient. It may take a long time before I truly understand a passage. I ask for the Holy Spirit's help by prayer. Isaiah 28:7 -9 warns us that we can be drunk and err in vision and judgement concerning our doctrine if we are not careful. God wants to teach us His knowlege and He takes His time doing it little by little and as we compare scripture with scripture.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Jesus also warned us regarding tradition and doctrines in these words. Matthew 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ......9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-15/

And by His own example, Christ depended upon every Word which proceedeth from the Mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-4/

I hope you will follow these same guidelines. Even if it means you must stop following a traditional belief or doctrine or man made command for which you can find no scriptural basis.
