Lion of the Tribe of Judah /Rev. 5:5

Updated: Sep 9, 2018

Powerful help is a valuable thing. I remember trying to clear our land. Every day for a few months after homeschooling our girls, I would go out with my saw, large clippers, and sometimes even a chain saw and hack away at viney growth and underbrush working slowly but surely on burning my piles of wood trying to make our country driveway look pretty. Then my husband caught on and said, how about if I get a team of men on it. Within two days, with machetes and chain saws they had it looking like a park. It was a huge relief to me.

That is what God sent. A powerful Helper to get the job done.

Revelation 5:4And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-5/

Ever since King David it had been promised that of His seed, the Messiah would come. The Lion of the tribe of Juda was expected to come as a King. But Israel did not recognize her Messiah King and even put him on a cross.

Peter sums it up in Acts 2: 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-Chapter-2/

Yes, in Jesus, God sent the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Let’s look at an early prophecy in Genesis 49: 8 -12 where Jacob prophesies while blessing his sons.
