DANIEL 8:25A HE SHALL STAND UP AGAINST THE PRINCE OF PRINCES

Updated: Dec 26, 2022

CHAPTER 25 A

Daniel 8:25 uses the word policy which means knowledge or wisdom and the word craft means guile or to be subtle. When talking about Satan, the Bible says, regarding his knowledge and vanity that He is wiser than Daniel. The Devil’s knowledge and vanity is reflected by the Papal church and depicted by a fornicating woman in Scripture dressed as a harlot. The Devil has not changed. He uses his wisdom to deceive. The “Image of the beast” will look just like the Leopard-like beast. He has the same characteristics of the one who supplies his power (the Dragon). The Little Horn Power who is empowered by the dragon has the same characteristics in that he is seeking to be in the place of God. We will find that part of his deception is to look harmless and destroy by peace. He shall also take his stand as chief of princes proclaiming himself the Christ or Michael in opposition to Christ. When he asks for our worship, we should remember that Jesus showed us exactly how to deal with the enemy. He said each time to Satan, “It is written.”

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-Chapter-8/

THROUGH HIS POLICY ALSO HE SHALL CAUSE CRAFT TO PROSPER

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart …. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-Chapter-8/

Policy means knowledge or wisdom. And craft is guile or to be subtle. We are not to be deceived into thinking that the image of the beast will be stupid. He has all the wisdom of the dragon which includes the years of this world as well as pre-earth. His is the wisdom of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He is subtle just as Satan was with Eve in the garden of Eden.

POLICY H7922

שֶׂכֶל sekel, seh'-kel; or שֵׂכֶל sêkel; from H7919; intelligence; by implication, success:—discretion, knowledge, policy, prudence, sense, understanding, wisdom, wise.https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=H7922&t=KJV

CRAFT H4820

מִרְמָה mirmâh, meer-maw'; from H7411 in the sense of deceiving; fraud:—craft, deceit(-ful, -fully), false, feigned, guile, subtilly, treachery. https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=H4820&t=KJV

PROSPER H6743

צָלַח tsâlach, tsaw-lakh'; or צָלֵחַ tsâlêach; a primitive root; to push forward, in various senses (literal or figurative, transitive or intransitive):—break out, come (mightily), go over, be good, be meet, be profitable, (cause to, effect, make to, send) prosper(-ity, -ous, -ously).https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=H6743&t=KJV

The phrase, “through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand” reminds me of the lyrics in Martin Luther’s hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”

For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal.

These words could say, by his knowledge, deceit will prosper in his powerful hand.

When talking about Satan, who is the dragon which gives his power to the Leopard-like beast, the Lamb-like beast, and to the Image of the beast, the Bible says, regarding his knowledge and vanity:

Ezekiel 28:3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:

4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:

5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;

The Devil’s knowledge and vanity is reflected by the Papal church and depicted by a fornicating woman in Scripture.

Revelation 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow....

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

The Devil has not changed. He uses his wisdom to deceive. He is still deceiving people just as he deceived a third of the angels of heaven and just as he deceived Eve. Remember his tail, is a symbol in Scripture for a false or lying prophet. With Eve, he first challenged the direct Word of God. Secondly, by getting her to answer him, he got her to start reasoning with him. Thirdly, he put himself in the place of God and told her an outright lie challenging God’s Word again. And fourth, he made her doubt God’s motives by stating He was keeping something wonderful from her and her husband by His commandment not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Isaiah 9:14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

The “Image of the beast” will look just like the Leopard-like beast. He has the same characteristics of the one who supplies his power (the Dragon). The Bible makes it clear that this power will be a spiritual, religious power who takes the prerogatives of God in that he will be worshipped just as the Leopard-like beast. With inspection he is found to be a lying, unrighteous spirit and vain power which will deceive the whole world except a remnant who by searching scripture do not to fall for him but instead cling to the truth.

Revelation 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.....

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Thessalonians-Chapter-2/

AND HE SHALL MAGNIFY HIMSELF IN HIS HEART

It has always been the policy of the dragon to exalt himself. The man of sin or Leopard like beast or Little Horn Power or Image of the Beast who is empowered by the dragon has the same characteristics in that he is seeking to be in the place of God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.....

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Revelation 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

BY PEACE SHALL DESTROY MANY

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-Chapter-8/

In our next phrase of Daniel 8:24 we find that this king of fierce countenance is a destructive force in a strange way. Daniel 8:25 says the “image of the beast” will destroy by peace. At first his character looks harmless, like a peacemaker, like a lamb. This is a trap.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

Ecclesiastes 9:12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ecclesiastes-Chapter-9/

Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Even today, there is a movement in the religious world called the ecumenical movement where churches of different faiths come together and compromise their Bible based beliefs to create a unity in the name of peace. This kind of peace is poison to Protestantism and is setting the foundation for opposition to Christ and His Word and His people. Man are placing their trust in man and forsaking God and His Word to attain unity or peace. In the end, this will cause their destruction.

Daniel 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

Psalms 28:3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.

4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-Chapter-28/

Jeremiah 4:6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul....

20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

STANDING UP AGAINST THE PRINCE OF PRINCES

Daniel 8:25 he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-Chapter-8/

Take a look at the Hebrew meaning of each phrase in Daniel 8:25.

HE SHALL ALSO STAND UP H5975

עָמַד ʻâmad, aw-mad'; a primitive root; to stand, in various relations (literal and figurative, intransitive and transitive):—abide (behind), appoint, arise, cease, confirm, continue, dwell, be employed, endure, establish, leave, make, ordain, be (over), place, (be) present (self), raise up, remain, repair, serve, set (forth, over, -tle, up), (make to, make to be at a, with-) stand (by, fast, firm, still, up), (be at a) stay (up), tarry. https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H5975&t=KJV

AGAINST THE PRINCE H8269

שַׂר sar, sar; from H8323; a head person (of any rank or class):—captain (that had rule), chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord,(-task-)master, prince(-ipal), ruler, steward. https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H8269&t=KJV

The words “of princes” is also the Hebrew work “sar”.

So the Hebrew reads simply: Amad sar sar.

This text could also be written like this: he shall also take his stand as chief of princes. In other words, this king of fierce countenance shall proclaim himself the Christ or Michael.

Please review our study on Daniel 8:15-16 regarding Michael the true Chief of princes or Prince of princes, Jesus Christ the Anointed One.

Jesus warned us that this would happen at the very close of time when He said, When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:).”

The Bible tells us that he (the abomination of desolation) will stand in the holy place. To refresh your mind regarding the abomination of desolation as equivalent to the persecuting power of the man of sin which causes Christ to leave His sanctuary desolate, review chapter 13 on Daniel 8:13. Only the true High Priest, which is Jesus Christ, is to stand before the throne of God for us. There is salvation in no other name but Jesus Christ. He ever liveth to make intercession for us.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-24/

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-Chapter-4/

Hebrews 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Hebrews-Chapter-7/

Only Christ by His sufferings has been perfected and anointed by God to be our High Priest and to stand in the Holy Place at the throne of God for us.

Hebrews 5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Hebrews-Chapter-5/

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Hebrews-Chapter-9/

Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-Chapter-7/

Scripture tells us that this wicked prince of Daniel 8:23 will stand up against the Prince of princes. This is a specific reference to his opposition to Christ. Another word for this in New Testament Scripture is antichrist.

Jesus warned us about false Christs.

Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, I have told you before.

26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-24/

To be the Christ is to be worshipped. At the close of time, the “Image of the beast” demands worship, a prerogative only given to the Godhead.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Exodus-Chapter-20/

Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worshipthe Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-4/

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-13/

Remember the “image of the beast” looks just like the Leopard-like beast did. The beast is described as exalting himself to the place of God. Please see our discussion on the “Little Horn power” of Daniel 8:9-12 to understand the character of the beast. Remember God gave ample time (1260 years) for this Little Horn power to “be revealed”. During that time, this power (the papacy) built a false system of worship to a false god. History tells the story of this persecuting religious power and of the men who took their stand against it to give us the knowledge we have today. This knowledge should help us to already know and resist this deceptive, persecuting power.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Thessalonians-Chapter-2/

Yes, at the very close of time, Satan will take his stand in the form of the “image of the beast” as if he were God. But unlike God, he is a compelling, or forceful persecuting power to those who decide not to obey his will.

We are clearly warned that this will happen. Will you stand with God? We have no strength of ourselves. We can only fall at the feet of Jesus and humbly trust His Word and Will. Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Jesus showed us exactly how to deal with the enemy. He said each time to Satan, “It is written.” Today we are free to study scripture. Study my friends to know the truth. Do not be deceived and be damned.

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Thessalonians-Chapter-2/

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-14/

There will be a group of people at the close of time who will stand for God. They will know and keep God’s Word and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-14/

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-12/

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-Chapter-8/

But God, though longsuffering, will take action. At some point, after the character of the image of the beast is fully revealed for his destruction and lying, Michael, the Mighty Prince and Captain of the armies of Heaven, will stand to intervene! We shall study this more in a following chapter, and have studied this already when studying Michael, the Mighty Man and Prince of Daniel 8:15.

Psalms 119:126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-Chapter-119/

Isaiah 59:14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Daniel-Chapter-12/

Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Revelation 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-11/

Proverbs 7:1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

CHAPTER SUMMARY

The word policy means knowledge or wisdom and the word craft means guile or to be subtle.

When talking about Satan, who is the dragon which gives his power to the Leopard-like beast, the Lamb-like beast, and to the Image of the beast, the Bible says, regarding his knowledge and vanity that He is wiser than Daniel.

The Devil’s knowledge and vanity is reflected by the Papal church and depicted by a fornicating woman in Scripture dressed as a harlot.

The Devil has not changed. He uses his wisdom to deceive.

It has always been the policy of the dragon to exalt himself. The man of sin or Leopard like beast or Little Horn Power or Image of the Beast who is empowered by the dragon has the same characteristics in that he is seeking to be in the place of God.

In our next phrase of Daniel 8:24 we find that this king of fierce countenance is a destructive force in a strange way. Daniel 8:25 says the “image of the beast” will destroy by peace. At first his character looks harmless, like a peacemaker, like a lamb. This is a trap.

Today, there is a movement in the religious world called the ecumenical movement where churches of different faiths come together and compromise their Bible based beliefs to create a unity in the name of peace. This kind of peace is poison to Protestantism and is setting the foundation for opposition to Christ and His Word and His people. Men and women are placing their trust in man and forsaking God and His Word to attain unity or peace. In the end, this will cause their destruction.

STANDING UP AGAINST THE PRINCE OF PRINCES

The phrase in Daniel 8:25 that says “standing up against the prince of princes” in Hebrew reads simply: Amad sar sar.

Jesus warned us that this would happen at the very close of time when He said, When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”

Only Christ by His sufferings has been perfected and anointed by God to be our High Priest and to stand in the Holy Place at the throne of God for us.

Scripture tells us that this wicked prince of Daniel 8:23 will stand up against the Prince of princes. This is a specific reference to his opposition to Christ. Another word for this in New Testament Scripture is antichrist.

Antichrist can also be a false Christ. Jesus warned us about false Christs. To be the Christ is to be worshipped. At the close of time, the “image of the beast” demands worship, a prerogative only given to the Godhead.

There will be a group of people at the close of time who will stand for God. They will know and keep God’s Word and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

God, though longsuffering, will take action.
