DANIEL 8:14D GENTILE WORLD MEASURED

Updated: Dec 17, 2022

CHAPTER 14 D

WHEN IS THE GENTILE WORLD MEASURED?

Revelation 11:1-2 implies that after the temple, altar and those who worship therein are measured or judged, there will come a day when the court of the temple, or the Gentile world, or earth will be involved in measurement or judgment. Below we will discover what this day looks like and that this day comes just before Christ, our High Priest, comes out of the temple of God in heaven on the antitypical Day of Atonement.

Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

What is the court of the temple? The court of the tabernacle or temple was that which enclosed or surrounded or made the yard of the temple. Also within this enclosure was the altar, and the laver.

COURT H2691

חָצֵר châtsêr, khaw-tsare'; (masculine and feminine); from H2690 in its original sense; a yard (as inclosed by a fence); also a hamlet (as similarly surrounded with walls):—court, tower, village.

Exodus 27:9 And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

10 And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11 And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12 And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13 And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15 And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

17 All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

18 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

19 All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Exodus-Chapter-27/

The outer court was a place the Gentiles (those who were not Jews) were allowed to enter. However, they could not come into the temple itself or it would be considered defiled.

Acts 21:26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Acts-Chapter-21/

The court contains the altar of sacrifice and the laver representing the courtyard of this world, the place where our Lord was obedient unto death.

Exodus 40:6 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein.

8 And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Exodus-Chapter-40/

On the antitypical Day of Atonement, the High Priest (Jesus Christ) will leave the reconciliation work inside the temple of measuring (judgment or atonement) the temple of God, and the altar (altar of incense), and them that worship therein. He then will wash, change His clothes and go into the outer court to make a sacrifice for a sin offering. But what happens just before He goes into the outer court is the measuring of the Gentiles.

Leviticus 16:20 And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:

21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

23 And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

24 And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Leviticus-Chapter-16/

Ezekiel 42:14 When the priests enter therein, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the utter court, but there they shall lay their garments wherein they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which are for the people.

15 Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forth toward the gate whose prospect is toward the east, and measured it round about.

16 He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.

17 He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.

18 He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.

19 He turned about to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.

20 He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.

Ezekiel 43:1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:

2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.

In Ezekiel we are shown a prophetic vision of what takes place when Christ, our High Priest, moves on the antitypical Day of Atonement, from the mercy seat or judgment seat of Christ to the threshold of the door leading out of the temple to the court of the temple. It is then, that the temple is filled with a cloud and the courtyard of this earth is filled with the brightness of the Lord’s glory.

Ezekiel 10:4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD'S glory.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-10/

On the antitypical Day of Atonement, when Christ moves to the threshold, just about to go measure the outer court, He calls to the Man clothed in linen, representative of the Person of the Holy Spirit, Who has the writer’s ink horn (2 Corinthians 3:3) Remember it is the Spirit of God Who writes God’s law on our hearts and minds changing us into the image of God (Hebrews 10:15-16; 2 Corinthians 3:18). In this case, the Spirit of God is told to seal (Ephesians 4:30) or mark the foreheads (minds) of the men who are sighing due to the abominations that are done within God’s city, Jerusalem (Ezekiel 9:3-4; Hebrews 12:22-25).

2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart….

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/2-Corinthians-Chapter-3/

Hebrews 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Ezekiel 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-9/

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ephesians-Chapter-4/

Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Hebrews-Chapter-12/

He is told to go through the midst of Jerusalem, representative of God’s heavenly church, in which the names of those who have given their hearts to God are come. But then God commands the other six men with weapons to smite any man who does not have the mark (seal of God). They are told to begin at His sanctuary but later in verse 7 they are to fill the courts with the slain.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-9/

Comparing scripture with scripture, this mark is seen in the New Testament as the Seal of God. Prior to the seven last plagues, those who are God’s people, symbolized in Ezekiel 9:4 by those “of Jerusalem” and below by the “servants of God” or the 144,000 of the tribes of the children of Israel, are sealed with His name or character. After they are sealed, scripture tells us the four winds of the earth (powers of the earth) are to be loosed to do their final work of destruction.

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-7/

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-14/

Ezekiel 9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-9/

However, notice in Ezekiel 9:3 that the “Glory of God was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was to the threshold of the house.” Ezekiel 10:4 tells us that at the time when “the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house,” the house was filled with a cloud and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s glory.

Did you notice that when the the court is full of the brightness of the glory of the Lord, the temple house is filled with a cloud in Ezekiel 10:4; Revelation 15:8, calling the cloud, smoke, tells us that the antitype of this significant event in Ezekiel 10:4 happens in heaven during when the seven last plagues fall.

Revelation 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-15/

God’s mercy is everlasting. And just before the time when the seventh plagues is poured out, the one concerning the final fall of Babylon, the earth is to be filled with the glory of the Lord. This is before great Babylon comes in remembrance before God. Just like above when the temple is filled with smoke or a cloud, the earth or outer court, or Gentile world is to be lightened with the glory of God.

Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-16/

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-18/

Between the sixth and seventh plagues, the Gentile world (not Christians, but those without the knowledge of God) are given one last opportunity to see His glory and to know Him. During this time, they are told Babylon is fallen and are given a final call to come out of Babylon which includes the pagan systems of the world as well as of the apostate church. (Revelation 18:2-4).

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Though the world is to have one last chance to accept Christ, this work of judgment must eventually end or be completed or finished.

Ezekiel 9:11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-9/

Going back to look at Leviticus 16 we see that on the Day of Atonement, when His work of atonement or reconciliation was done or completed inside the temple, the High Priest left His work at the mercy seat and changed His clothes and came out to the outer court of the temple.

Ezekiel 44:17 And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.

18 They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.

19 And when they go forth into the utter court, even into the utter court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-44/

In the same way, our High Priest in Heaven will one day say “It is finished!” He will leave His work of atonement in the sanctuary of heaven and and will return to the courtyard of this earth to get His people. The mystery of God is finished. There is no more gospel call. The work of gospel sanctification is complete. The last period of earth’s probation is complete.

Revelation 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-10/

What mystery?

Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Romans-Chapter-16/

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Revelation 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

A MARK ON THE HEART OR MIND THAT TAKES THE PLACE OF SIN

In the very end of time, like at other times in the history of God’s church, there is pollution within the church itself. God has a special mark placed on those within His church who do not go along with the abominations entering the church. This mark in the end of time is the seal of God or God’s name (His character) written in the foreheads or minds of men.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-Chapter-9/

Revelation 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-14/

Notice this group of people have the Father’s name or character written on their hearts and minds and they are found without fault before the throne of God. This is Day of Atonement language. That is because Jesus, their High Priest, who is at the throne of God has applied His blood and atoned for or removed their sins from their hearts and minds and placed His character or image or the name of the Father there.

The message of the Day of Atonement includes a personal message of warning to the world. This message God’s people must bear in warning to the world. At the end of time, the Man of Sin is to become active again. There will be a church state power who will once again try to force men to worship contrary to the Will of God. We find this message in the third angel’s message of Revelation 14. This power has its own mark or seal to write into the minds and hands of men. Rather than God’s image they take on the image of the beast which is salvation by the works of man. But there are a people who stay faithful to God, who keep His commandments and who have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-14/

Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Revelation-Chapter-13/

This moment in time, when the Gentile world will have a last call to either receive the mark of the beast or the seal of God is called the battle of Armaggedon. It is God’s mercy during His wrath. It is His final call to come out of her (Babylon), my people. And it is the last call to all the earth to join team Heaven.

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Joel 3:9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.

12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.

13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

6 He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.

CHAPTER SUMMARY

WHEN IS THE GENTILE WORLD MEASURED?

Revelation 11:1-2 implies that after the temple, altar and those who worship therein are measured or judged, there will come a day when the court of the temple, or the Gentile world, or earth will be involved in measurement or judgment. The outer court mentioned in Revelation 11:1-2 was a place the Gentiles or Greeks were allowed to enter. However, they could not come into the temple itself or it would be considered defiled.

The court contains the altar of sacrifice and the laver representing the courtyard of this world or the place where our Lord was obedient unto death. After His death, Christ ascended to His work in the temple of Heaven as our High Priest.

On the antitypical Day of Atonement of Leviticus 16, the high priest left the reconciliation work inside the temple of measuring (judgment or reconciliation) for the temple of God, and the altar (altar of incense), and them that worship therein, washed, changed His clothes and went into the outer court to make a sacrifice for a sin offering. What happened just before He went into the outer court is representative of the prophetic “measuring of the Gentiles.”

In Ezekiel we are shown a prophetic vision of what takes place when Christ as our High Priest moves on the antitypical Day of Atonement from the mercy seat or judgment seat of Christ to the threshold of the door leading out of the temple to the court of the temple. It is then, that the temple is filled with a cloud and the court is filled with the brightness of the Lord’s glory.

On the antitypical Day of Atonement, when Christ moves to the threshold, before He goes into the outer court, He calls to the Man clothed in linen, representative of the Person of the Holy Spirit, Who has the writer’s ink horn (2 Corinthians 3:3) Remember it is the Spirit of God Who writes God’s law on our hearts and minds changing us into the image of God (Hebrews 10:15-16; 2 Corinthians 3:18). In this case, the Spirit of God is told to seal (Ephesians 4:30) or mark the foreheads (minds) of the men who are sighing due to the abominations that are done within God’s city, Jerusalem (Ezekiel 9:3-4).

When the the court is full of the brightness of the glory of the Lord, the temple house is filled with a cloud in Ezekiel 10:4; Revelation 15:8, calling the cloud, smoke, tells us that the antitype of this significant event in Ezekiel 10:4 happens in heaven just before and during when the seven last plagues fall.

God’s mercy is everlasting. And just before the time when the seventh plagues is poured out, the one concerning the final fall of Babylon, the earth is to be filled with the glory of the Lord one more time. Just like above when the temple is filled with smoke or a cloud, the earth or outer court, or Gentile world is to be lightened with the glory of God.

Between the sixth and seventh plagues, the Gentile world, not Christians but those without the knowledge of God, are given one last opportunity to see His glory and to know Him. During this time, they are told Babylon is fallen and are given a final call to come out of Babylon which includes the pagan systems of the world as well as of the church. (Revelation 18:2-4).

Though the world is to have one last chance to accept Christ, this work of judgment must eventually end or be completed or finished. Going back to look at Leviticus 16 we see that on the Day of Atonement, when His work of atonement or reconciliation was done or completed inside the temple, the High Priest left His work at the mercy seat and changed His clothes and came out to the outer court of the temple.

There is a final moment in time, when, by the mercy of God, the Gentile world will have a last gospel call to either receive the mark of the beast or the seal of God, called the battle of Armaggedon. It is God’s mercy during His wrath. It is His final call to come out of her (Babylon), my people. And it is a call to all the earth. This is the measuring or judgement of the Gentile world. There is not another prophetic period of probation. The judgm
